This Day and Age

This Day And Age - An Anthology of Modern Poetry in English, Selected by Stanley Hewett, B.A., published in 1960 (this copy being reprinted in 1962), by Edward Arnold (Publishers) Ltd. Sassoon contributed three poems: ‘At the Cenotaph,’ ‘Thoughts in 1932,’ and his excellent ‘The Case for the Miners.’

Again, this selection in a 1960’s anthology of ‘Modern’ poetry gives the lie to those who said Sassoon had become irrelevant after the war and that he was seen as old fashioned.

This book is another uncollated title, missing from Geoffrey Keynes’ bibliography of Sassoon.
